Deric Borrero is a life long educator with over 25 years of classroom and administrative experience.

Today, Mr. Deric Borrero currently holds an administrative position working with middle school students on Staten Island. His years of experience working both in the classroom and as a supervisor make Deric a formidable source of knowledge for students striving to attain their academic goals.

With an eye towards the future, Mr. Borrero works diligently to provide a strong academic foundation for all students regardless of their academic levels. Working to improve student performance is of paramount importance and through advisement, academic intervention, and institutional support Mr. Borrero has a track record of proven success and has overseen the graduation of thousands of elementary and middle school students.

Deric Borrero and his Resource Room Forest Avenue Location

Deric Borrero joined the Resource Room Team when in the summer of 2017. The Resource Room was proud to welcome Mr. Borrero as part owner of the Resource Room Tutoring Center at 534 Forest Ave., Staten Island, NY 10310. Mr. Borrero has established a strong relationship with members of the West Brighton community and has established cutting edge Lego Robotics and STEM Programs at the Resource Room Forest Avenue.

Mr. Borrero successfully established these programs to provide an alternative means of presenting Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math instruction to students between the ages of five and thirteen. These programs have become a staple on Friday evenings at Resource Room Forest Avenue and continue to provide a welcoming, fun, and educational experience for students. Working to build a strong sense of community and with a focus on team building the STEM programs offer an array of opportunities for students to build confidence, further their academic knowledge, and learn valuable team building skills that permeate the classroom walls and contribute to bettering social and communication skills.

Deric can often be found working with students on an individual basis and is often one of the first faces to greet clients as they walk through the door on the weekends. With years for professional experience in the academic arena, Deric brings a unique skill set that has helped build the Resource Room Forest Avenue location into an academic powerhouse. Leading a staff of over 15 employees and working closely with the other owners to set a curriculum that advances the individual needs of every student.
